Ladies and gentleman........
Chellaston Junior School Drama and Choir clubs are proud to present Guys and Dolls Junior!
We have been slaving away at rehearsals since September, and now there is just over a week until our opening. Let me tell you......it is going to be a fantastic show.
Well done to all of the year 5 and 6 children who have been involved in this production. Their commitment has been great. All we need to do now is to add a few finishing touches to it, and we're ready for curtain up. Thank you especially to parents who have helped to get children to rehearsals and sort out costumes. Special thanks goes to Miss Smith, Mrs Macdonald and Ms Savidge for their help and support at rehearsals, to Mrs Slack for organising the programmes and tickets, Mrs Royston-Webb for co-ordinating costumes and props, and to Mr Bemrose and Mr Mr Macdonald for their fabulous efforts with the scenery.
BREAK A LEG EVERYONE!

Good luck with the production Miss Fogg. Thank you for all your hard work and to the children. Looking forward to seeing Guys and Dolls
Thank you anonymous.....if only I knew who you were and then I could thank you in person!
Hope you enjoy the show.....there are some real stars in the making!
Good luck next week with the show.
James has really enjoyed rehearsals. It is a brilliant way to get children interested in musical theatre.
We went to see the senior school production last night and James knew nearly all of the lines for the main characters. It was good to see so many ex-CJS pupils in starring roles!
I've heard the senior's show was a good performance and I'm sorry I didn't have time to go see it! The year 6 crowd in the CJS show will be sorely missed next year, as they have been brilliant to work with (although I always ask James what you feed him for breakfast, talk about energy at 7.45am!). Obviously year 5 are great, but I get to keep them for another year! There is a whole wealth of talent steadily crawling out of them in various guises, and all we can do is mould and shape them bit by bit! Who says you can't do a love story with 10 and 11 year olds? I keep having to send the kids to fetch me tissues from the toilets because it makes me cry every time! Bring your tissues guys, they will be needed to wipe up the laughter and the tears!
Guys and Dolls Tuesday 4th April
Just got back from the show. Absolutely fantastic. The hard work that the children and Miss Fogg have put in over the past months certainly paid off. All the children were brilliant - not a line was forgotton. The songs brough tears to our eyes as the kids put true emotion into the parts.
Dont know how youre going to top this one for next year Miss Fogg.
It made us very proud.
Going again tommorow and looking forward to it just as much.
Guys and Dolls
What a performance!!!!
Absolutely brilliant.
Cant get the songs out of my head.
Wanted the show to go on longer.
FANTASTIC
Well Done Miss Fogg and all the children involved
It's that anonymous person again!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I've just added a new thred to the blog which hopefully will make you giggle now you know the story.
I'm a big believer of credit where credit is due. Any person can only work with the raw materials they are given. In this instance, the materials are the children, we as teachers are only the sculptors of their inner talents. The true stars are the children....and what stars they were. All we can do is inspire them and light the flame....whether the fire rages on or not is down to them.
As for next year.....every year everyone asks how on earth we are going to follow that performance next year! Each year, the parents and staff think it is "the best one ever by far". How can we possibly compare them? Different shows, different children, different talents.
Every year, about three weeks before the show I say to myself "never again" and about this time every year, I frantically search for ideas for next year and hope it's going to be just as good....and that we've got enough in the kitty to make it happen!
There are some year fours who have very loudly told me they are definitely being in the show next year.....I guess that means I'll have to stick around a bit longer!
Well done to everybody involved with Guys & Dolls. What a wonderful show, I really enjoyed it. It has made me want to go and see it again.
A fantastic show - congratulations to everyone involved, especially the children and of course, Miss Fogg. These shows just get better and better.
Well done!
