Thanks in advance to all the children who will be singing at the Christmas Fair. It is always such a lovely moment when they enter the hall and everything stops so we can listen to them sing. I'm really looking forward to it again this year!

Nice selection of songs.
Things have changed since I was in the school choir; it was mostly religious carols and the idea of singing more popular songs would have the music teacher with an attack of the vapours.
Perhaps I'm becoming a grumpy old man. :-)

Irby, I'm certain that if you came to any one of our performances, it would leave you tapping your toes and singing along.....not to mention joining in the dance routines!
I've even decided to use backing tracks this year rather than the traditional piano, very 21st Century I know!
The first rehearsal went with a bang....the songs are really popular with the children and they're making up their own actions already. They think they're lucky to have such a young (?!) forward thinking teacher.

Why not come to one of our performances? We'll guarantee to cheer up the grumpiest of old men!

I may be a tad grumpy, but I'm not really old, I was only 21 again last month.
I shall endeavour to attend one of the performances - if you spot someone failing dismally to Lindyhop with a chair then you'll know it's me. :-D

Hi Irby. Did you manage to make it to one of the performances? It's just that I don't recall seeing anyone doing a Lindy Hop in the hall :-) BTW I had to search google to find out what a LH is. (http://dancing.org/lindy-what-is.html). The Christmas Service was really good - I especially liked the rendition of Rudolph! Thanks to Mandy, Yvonne and all the children from drama/choir.

I'm afraid I couldn't make it, shame though as it sounded from the choice of songs that I'd have enjoyed it. I particularly like Jingle Bell Rock and Rocking Around The Christmas Tree.
PS, I can't really Lindy Hop very well so it's probably just as well I didn't. I can waltz,cha- cha and salsa a little though. So if MF is planning an end of term dance let me know and I'll come and tread on people's toes :-)
Have a Happy Christmas.
